2001 ICD Code Modules Ready Now
DBL Enterprises announces the immediate availability of its October 2000 ICD and ICD/CPT/HCPCS modules.These modules contain the latest ICD code changes that take effect 10/1/2000. As you know, HCFA did not make changes in the code set in October 1999 due to its concern over Y2K readiness. This means that two years have passed since code changes have been made for ICD-9 CM in the U.S.A.
Over 1,000 changes to the codes, alphabetical index, and table of drugs and chemicals have been made. These affect a wide variety of diagnosis categories including:
Allergy, Anemia, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Dementia, Pregnancy, Ulcers, V codes for malignancy screening, and others.

A second Flash Code release is planned by mid-October for Flash Code Expert Edition. This release will include the CCI edit checks that take effect October 30th. These data files have just been released by HCFA's data arm, NTIS, and will be inporporated into Expert Edition immediately. Also included will be the latest additions to the ICD/CPT medicare mandated code pairs data set that has been compiled via Physician Reimbursement Services. This data set is approaching 85% completion with a target of Q1 2001 for total LMRP data.

DBL Enterprises is transferring its FTP functions to a larger speed and capacity location so that download speeds will be significantly enhanced. Effective immediately, download speeds should meet or exceed 150KB/sec, thus enabling a download of the full 26MB Expert Edition installer in minutes for users with fast internet connections. (DSL, cable, T1 connections. 56K modem users will also note an appreciable increase in download times but should expect to take about 30 minutes to download)
